Nutrition Center to host Canning Workshops

Can if you can with the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center this harvest season! The Nutrition Center will be hosting two canning classes open to the public. The first will be a back-to-basics water-bath canning workshop on Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. The second will be an introductory Pressure Canning Workshop on Saturday, September 7th from 10:00 – 1:00 pm.  The pressure canning workshop will be hosted by Kathleen Martin MD, Master Preserver.  Fee for the workshops are $10 per person. All participants will leave with a packet of information, including canning recipes, and a jar of the day’s canned goods.
