American Cancer Society Daffodil Days at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center

Daffodils will be sold in the following locations:

St. Mary’s Main Lobby – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
8:30am – 3:30pm

Campus Cusine – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
11:00am – 1:30pm

1 bunch = $10.00
bear & bunch = $25.00 (two bears left!)

*If there are any remaining daffodils come Friday, they will be sold in the Gift Shop*

Junior Volunteer Program at St. Mary’s Health System – Plan for your summer now!!!

This is a summer program primarily, although trained junior volunteers may choose to continue their volunteer work over the school year in the after-school programs as well.   New junior volunteer applications are accepted now through May 1, 2011.   Interviews are held in May, and orientations and training starts in June at the conclusion of school and runs approximately 8 weeks.  This program fills up quickly for 12-17 year old students.

Blood Drive at St. Mary’s a Success!

Last week’s American Red Cross blood drive at St. Mary’s was wildly successful!  We set a goal of 35 units. Thanks to your generosity, we donated 50 units! That’s the biggest donation in two years!!!

LEWISTON:  This morning, local volunteer Laurianne Cormier was presented with the October 2010 Mayoral VIBE Award (Volunteers Inspire By Example) by Lewiston Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert, Sr.     

Gilbert stated, “You are being presented with the VIBE Award in recognition of your long-standing commitment to volunteering within this community. The nearly 18,000 hours you have served in St. Mary’s Medical Records Department during the last 32 years is simply amazing! You are clearly an individual who goes above & beyond the extra mile! Thank you for your stellar dedication; your tireless civic engagement is an inspiration and a tremendous asset to our community.”    Cormier was very surprised and appreciative and was surrounded by St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center employees. She was also presented with a floral arrangement by Michelle Coulombe, St. Mary’s Manager for Health Information Management Services.     Mayor Gilbert presented Cormier with a certificate, a VIBE lapel pin, a donated lunch for two certificate from Fran’s Place LA, and a copy of a “Go the Extra Mile” proclamation that Gilbert will read at an upcoming City Council meeting.
