CCS Pediatrics is proud to announce Leigh Sweet, MD, MPH, has joined their team of Pediatric providers. Dr. Sweet is Fellowship trained in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She performed her Chief Residency and Pediatric Residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut. She earned her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and a Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health.  She has a special interest and expertise in immigrant and refugee health, infectious diseases, and tropical and travel medicine.

Dr. Sweet is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, Infectious Diseases Society of America, International Society for Infectious Diseases, and the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Come to a presentation by Dr. David Wexler of St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in Lepage Large Conference Room, 99 Campus Avenue, Lewiston.

Dr. Wexler will discuss new technology and procedures that cause less trauma during surgery and leads to a faster recovery. He’ll also talk about how knee replacements last much longer than replacements made just a decade ago. Plus, you’ll have a chance to ask your questions.

Dr. Wexler earned his medical degree at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, University Of London in London, United Kingdom. He completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. For the past 10 years he worked at Northern Penobscot Orthopaedics, Millinocket Regional Hospital in Millinocket.

During his 23 years as a surgeon, Dr. Wexler’s training has included various subspecialties providing a broad experience. His main focus at St. Mary’s Center for Orthopaedics is lower limb joint reconstruction including hip, knee, and ankle replacement.

Melissa is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Worcester with a Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Certificate of Completion in Registered Nursing from the Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester. St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center welcomes Teresita Maguire, MD. Dr. Maguire is an infectious disease specialist. For the past few years, she has been a consultant for St. Mary’s and Central Maine Medical Center. As an employed physician, Dr. Maguire will see patients in the hospital and on an outpatient basis at Sabattus Street Primary Care.

Dr. Maguire is earned her medical degree (magna cum laude) from the University of the Visayas- Gullas College of Medicine, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines. She completed residencies in medicine at the Department of Medicine, Cebu City Medical Center, Cebu Doctor’s College of Medicine Consortium, Cebu City, Philippines and at the Department of Medicine, Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Maguire completed her fellowship at the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Maguire is seeing patients at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and, on an outpatient basis, at Sabattus Street Primary Care in Lewiston.
