Did you know St. Mary’s has a team of providers on campus focused on neurological issues such as stroke, epilepsy, head injuries, and other neurological concerns?
St. Mary’s Neurology Associates is a specialty practice, affiliated with St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, located at 99 Campus Avenue in Lewiston. The team, headed by neurologists David Burke, M.D. and Carl Robinson, M.D.
provide consultations in their office and respond to emergency room requests as well.
Neurologists treat nervous system disorders, including problems with the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Examples of diagnoses evaluated and treated by neurologists include: Epilepsy/Seizures, Headaches, Head and Spinal Injuries, Memory Disorders, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromuscular Disease, Sleep Disorders, Stroke, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and Unexplained Neurological Symptoms.
One of the specialized tools available to the team in performing its work is a long term EEG unit, known as the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The EMU, located within St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, is the he only unit of its kind in this area.
